The 23rd National Congress and the 11th International Congress of Iranian Biology jointly organized by the Iranian Biology Association and the Faculty of Biology and hosted by the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Literature on the 19th to the 21st of September at the University of Tehran and with the cooperation and assistance of all departments University of Tehran, including the field of presidency, public relations, security and regulations, Faculty of Literature and Faculty of Science. In this congress, six specialized conferences: environmental and conservation; plant sciences; animal sciences; Cell and molecular sciences; Microbiology and the conference of biology teachers were held simultaneously. The opening ceremony was held on the first day of the Congress in the Ferdowsi Hall of the Faculty of Literature of the University of Tehran with the presence of more than 700 participants, and in addition to the speech of Dr. Mohammad Nabiuni, the President of the Congress, Dr. Javad Hamidi, from the Dean of the Faculty of Biology, and Dr. Reza Ameri, the Dean of Schools, Sciences and Dr. Ali Farazmand, scientific secretary of the Congress, during eight key speakers, including five international speakers from England, Italy, Germany and America, presented their expert views in the field of biology in virtual form.

The congress secretariat had received more than 1400 articles, and 45 lectures containing the research results of professors and students from all over the country and 800 articles in the form of poster presentations were accepted by the scientific committee of the congress. On the second day of the congress, the posters were displayed in the indoor space of Dar al-Funun street of the university. On the sidelines of this congress, there are also side programs with the titles: biological economy; health microbiology and microbiota; Translational Biology; The impact of virtual space on the education of biology and business in biological sciences, in the Dehshor hall of science schools and the conference rooms of the geology faculty of science schools, was one of the other effective events of this congress. During the closing ceremony of the congress, Dr. Ali Asghar Masoumi, the pioneer of botany of the country, was honored. Also, on the sidelines and at the same time as the congress, a national specialized meeting on the study of the law and by-laws for the protection and exploitation of the country's genetic resources, with the presence of officials and representatives of relevant organizations and institutions, by the biodiversity working group of the Union of Biological Sciences Associations of Iran, in the Piralhi hall of schools.
