The Division of Plant Science works to advance research and address challenges related to ecosystem at reginal, local and global levels. Our works focus on systematics, phylogeny, and physiology in plant species to maintain biodiversity and sustainable agriculture, and to develop methods for plant production as a safe and sufficient food supply. The Faculty of the Division of Plant Science use a variety of biochemical, molecular, and genetic techniques to investigate genetic diversity in plants inhabiting Iran, to study the physiology of growth and stress in plants, to elucidate interactions between plants and their environments.

Our division has a collection of plant species "Herbarium", and research laboratories for training students and conducting research.

We offer undergraduate and graduate programs and educate students in basic and applied plants sciences to prepare them for careers in academic organizations, research institutes and modern production agriculture.
